Tomasz Wardyński CBE

Advocate, Founding Partner

A graduate of the Law Faculty of Warsaw University (1970), the college of Europe, Bruges, Belgium (1973) and the Institute of European Studies and Law Faculty, University of Strasbourg, France (1974-75), Tomasz Wardyński was also a visiting scholar at the American Bar Foundation (1985). He is an Honorary Commander of the Civil Division of Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (2001).

 

Tomasz Wardyński is a founding partner and chairman of Wardyński & Partners, one of the largest independent Polish law firms, which has been successfully operating since the early nineties. In 2001, as one of the very first law firms from a country in line to become EU member, Wardyński & Partners opened an office in Brussels.

 

An advocate practicing since 1979, he has been a litigation lawyer for many years and started commercial practice in 1986.

 His area of expertise beside competition law, includes dispute resolution and arbitration.

He has taken part in many privatization projects, resolving questions of commercial law, and supervising the drafting of agreements to finance projects.

 

His experience of negotiations regarding large public projects and his skills in arbitration proceedings and competition law gained him recognition in Poland and abroad.

 

He is a member of the Competition Law Association and International Competition Network at the International Chamber of Commerce, the Arbitration Council at the Court of Arbitration at the Polish Chamber of Commerce, member of LPD Council, European Forum Advisory Board and many professional legal associations.
